Heather Ressler comes from a military family and spent her childhood in various locations; however, she claims Indiana as home.  She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Public and Environmental Affairs and went on to attend law school at the McKinney School of Law. Upon passing the bar, she spent her first years working as a solo practitioner and then worked for the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office in the Child Support Division as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney. Within two years, she was promoted to trainer, where she spent four years mentoring and preparing new Deputy Prosecutors. Her professional experience also includes work in criminal justice, human resources, and customer relations.

Heather understands that the court system can often feel overwhelming, and she believes an attorney’s role is to guide clients through the process with clarity and compassion. She prioritizes making sure her clients feel comfortable with her and with the court system. She wants her clients to have a clear understanding of what has happened and what comes next.

Outside of her legal career, Heather has a lifelong passion for animals and the environment. She and her boyfriend have several unique pets—including a four foot long Argentine Tegu (read: really big lizard)—and they enjoy taking them on city walks and to community events. Heather passionately believes in growing native plants, managing water runoff, avoiding pesticides, and providing green space in the city. In her free time, she enjoys running local trails, training in circus arts, cooking (and eating) adventurous recipes, practicing marksmanship, and sharing her enthusiasm for the unexpected benefits of creatures like bats and opossums in urban spaces.
